Open Art Studio: Suncatchers

Our open art studio offers the freedom of an art-friendly space for creativity and the support of a clinician trained in art therapy. Bring a work in progress to develop further or use our supplies to create something new!
Our July Open Art Studio will feature suncatchers. Suncatchers are creations you can place in your home near a window to reflect light and create joy in your environment. They can have a deeper meaning, serving as a visual reminder. We will use tissue paper, glass gems, beads, and wire to make unique creations. You will have the opportunity to learn how to make faux stained glass or beaded suncatchers. Guidance, materials, and examples will be provided.
Our art studio is a safe, nonjudgmental space for expression, growth, and reflection through artmaking. Experimentation and collaboration are encouraged. No art experience is necessary, just an open heart and mind. Our focus is on the process and experience of art making, not the finished product. The art studio is neurodivergent- and disability-friendly. If you need accommodations or adaptations to participate fully, please do not hesitate to reach out to the facilitator, Kailey Williams.
