Open Art Studio: Nature Printmaking

Our open art studio offers the freedom of an art-friendly space for creativity and the support of a clinician trained in art therapy. Each month features a material or project which balances structure and creativity.
Our April Open Art Studio will feature printmaking with natural objects, including flowers, leaves, sticks, and more. As we experience spring and the natural world changing around us, there is much we can learn about our own growth. Natural printmaking is the process of taking collected natural objects and using paint or ink to make impressions of the objects on paper or fabric in order to create your own patterns or designs. Guidance, examples, and materials will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own natural materials if you have the opportunity to gather them prior to the workshop.
Our art studio is a safe, nonjudgmental space for expression, growth, and reflection through artmaking. Experimentation and collaboration are encouraged. No art experience is necessary, just an open heart and mind. Our focus is on the process and experience of art making, not the finished product. The art studio is neurodivergent and disability friendly. If you need accommodations or adaptation to fully participate please do not hesitate to reach out to the facilitator, Kailey Williams.
